Checking Track Wear
•Remove hopper wing bolts, open the wings and raise the deck. Raise the deck safety prop.
*Do Not Go Under The Deck Without Using The Deck Safety Prop*
With the engine at 1800 RPMs, measure the distance from the frame to the front of the track.
Shut off the engine
Place a small drain pan under the Track tension Manifold. Using a 15/16 wrench, loosen both left and right hoses. Just enough to relieve the pressure from the track tension cylinders.
Using a prybar, compress the track tension cylinder.
Remeasure the distance from the frame to the front of the track. If it’s 3” or more the tracks are too loose.
Inspect the tracks for worn idlers. Inspect the tires for wear and missing rubber. Repair as necessary.
A link maybe removed to compensate for track wear and tire wear.
