REAR HOPPER SWITCH REPLACEMENT

1.                  OBJECTIVE

The current mercury switch has issues out in the field. When the chip spreader makes a sharp turn, the bubble in the mercury will move; dropping it out of travel.

 

A new more stable solution needs to be derived to solve the issue.

 

2.                  EQUIPMENT / INSTRUMENTATION

3.                  PROCEDURE

Grind off the current mercury switch mount for both sides.

 

 

Weld the bolt in this location for both sides of the wing. It will be on the same surface where the old mercury switch mount was.

 

 

Next, drill and tap the holes for the switch for both sides.

 

 

Install the switch (1012941) as such.

 

Adjust the exact location for the switch as needed.

Wiring is a direct plug and play.

Test the hopper switch by running the machine. Make minor adjustment to the switch location to ensure compliance.
